So let me begin by explaining what I mean by the second part of the title of this post. At the beginning of this year, I noted down a bunch of readathon dates in my planner. The first readathon I was interested in this year was the 24 in 48 readathon, in which you basically read for 24 hours from 48. I, for some reason, thought that this was going to take place on January 19th. I don’t know why, but that’s how it is.
But it’s not taking place on the 19th. It started on the 16th, and I became aware of this fact after the readathon was halfway done with. Now, I’m adamant on taking part in this even if I failed epically. So, my personal 24 in 48 readathon is going to run from midnight on January 17th to midnight on January 19th. I’m breaking all the rules here, but I need to get out of my reading slump like yesterday, and this is probably the key to doing that. Note: it is now 2 am on January 17th, so I’m already 2 hours into my readathon.
Now, without further ado, let me introduce the books I plan on getting to.
My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins:
I’m already 60% through this, so I plan on finishing it during this readathon. Look out for my review some time soon. I will probably be rating and reviewing each of the twelve stories this bind up consists.
Bookishly Ever After by Isabel Bandeira (eARC):
I’m 40% through this. Again, I plan on finishing this during this readathon. I don’t know why I haven’t DNF’d this yet – perhaps because I feel obligated to read and review something I requested from the publisher. But at this moment, it’s making me angry because of how bad it is.
Shadow Kiss (The Vampire Academy #3) by Richelle Mead:
I read the second book in the series early last year, and I never got around to reading this installment, even though I’ve heard it’s great. This series is incredibly fast-paced, so I think I’ll be able to finish this, despite its slightly-above-average size.
Alrighty guys, that’s all the books I have in my TBR right now. I hope I’ll be able to get through all three. And if I’m able to do that in under 24 hours, I’ll probably pick up something new. Perhaps get a headstart on another readathon happening immediately after this one.
Have you read any of these books I mentioned above? What were your thoughts? Are you taking part in this readathon, and if so, what are some books you plan on reading? Leave a comment down below to let me know, and as always, happy reading <3
