Book Haul | August '16

august book haul

Hello, everyone! Today, I’m bringing to you my August book haul. This is going to be a very picture-heavy post. You may already know but I moved into my dormitory for the upcoming academic year, so I’ve been off my game when it comes to book pictures. I haven’t been able to take a collective picture of all the books I acquired last month, so you’re going to have to bear with me. XD

Books I Bought

I’ve been doing so well recently with actually reading the books I buy. Before this month, I would splurge on books and just keep them on my shelf and not read them for months and months. Of the books I bought this month, I’ve read them all apart from And I Darken! Also, I subscribed to this monthly planner kit service where you get exclusively designed goodies for your planner. What you see in the last picture above is what I received this month. I was hella bored, so I decided to re-do my planner set-up. (Do people spend this much time on planners? Surely not…)

  1. And I Darken by Kiersten White ~ Goodreads | Amazon
  2. The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson ~ Goodreads | Amazon
  3. The Summer that Melted Everything by Tiffany McDaniel ~ Review | Goodreads | Amazon
  4. Harry Potter & the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, Jack Tiffany, John Thorne ~ Goodreads | Amazon
  5. The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson ~ Review | Goodreads | Amazon
  6. A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara ~ Review | Goodreads | Amazon

Books I Received

  1. Bright Smoke, Cold Fire (ARC) by Rosamund Hodge (Books for Trade ~ exchanged for The Graces by Laure Eve) ~ Goodreads | Amazon
  2. Joyride by Anna Banks (Books for Trade ~ exchanged for The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson) ~ Goodreads | Amazon
  3. Dark Matter by Blake Crouch (sent to me by Crown Publishing for review) ~ Goodreads | Amazon
  4. A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki AND You by Caroline Kepnes (Books for Trade ~ exchanged for Truthwitch by Susan Dennard) ~ Goodreads | Amazon

I was quite impressed with last month’s Owlcrate, and although I’m not a huge fan of contemporaries, I’m excited to read my first Kasie West novel. But my favorite item of the box was, by far, the Harry Potter print. It’s just so freaking gorgeous, don’t you think?

  1. Everything You Want Me to Be by Mindy Mejia (releases in January 2017) ~ Goodreads | Amazon
  2. Saving Sophie by Sam Carrington (released in August) ~ Review | Goodreads | Amazon
  3. This is Our Story by Ashley Elston (releases in November 2016) ~ Goodreads | Amazon
  4. Watching Edie by Camilla Way (released in August) ~ Review | Goodreads | Amazon
  5. The Wangs vs. the World by Jade Chang (releases in October 2016) ~ Goodreads | Amazon
  6. Faithful by Alice Hoffman (releases in November 2016) ~ Goodreads | Amazon

Well, that’s it for my August book haul! All the pictures above were taken for my bookstagram (link below), if you’re interested in checking it out. Have you read any of these books? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below, and as always – thanks for stopping by, and happy reading!
