Hello everyone! So, November’s over and we’re in the last month of the year, which is absolutely insane, but I’m not going to talk about that because I’ve done so constantly over the past few months. So, if you hadn’t noticed, I changed up the look of my blog a bit and made it more simple. I suck at stability – I need change constantly, so I’m sorry if keeping up with the looks on my blog gets tiring. xD
Book buying wise, this month wasn’t too bad. Here are the books I got (minus one, but I’ll get to that later!):
Since Black Friday sales are a huge thing even in the book industry, I had to take advantage of those. Book Outlet had a huge sale and I did place an order (I got 9 books for $15!), but since those aren’t here yet, I’m not going to include them in this haul. I also took advantage of the Black Friday offers at Barnes & Noble, and since it was also my birthday last month (on the 30th!), my mom bought me a few signed editions from there.
Signed editions my mom got me from Barnes & Noble:
+ Outlander (Outlander #1) by Diana Gabaldon (unread)
+ The Martian by Andy Weir (unread)
+ The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky (read, not pictured because it’s at home)
I’m so excited for all these signed editions, but especially for Perks. If you didn’t know, Perks is one of my all-time favorite books. I can easily say that it’s a book that changed my life, changed my outlook on a lot of things. It was the first book I was exposed to which dealt with mental illness, and it also introduced me to an LGBTQ+ character, which had never happened before. I am so, so grateful that I managed to get my hands on a signed edition of this book. It’s definitely one of my most prized possessions now.
This month, I also signed up for my first ever OwlCrate box, which contained Soundless by Richelle Mead. I wasn’t stoked about this box; I was a little underwhelmed by it, but I’m going to give it another go. Hopefully, December’s box is more exciting.
I also participated in #BooksforTrade this month. If you don’t know, #BooksforTrade is a thing on Twitter where you can trade your books with other members of the boookish community. I got rid of both of my Colleen Hoover books (Ugly Love & Maybe Someday) and received the Help and Panic in return. All at the expense of $4. Woot woot. 🙂
I had a gift card for Amazon and I took advantage of that and bought myself Dumplin’ and Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda, because I had been hearing nothing but fantastic things about both. Haven’t read either of them, but I’m excited to get into them!
I also went to a Marissa Meyer signing this month, which was a lot of fun. I made a new friend, and I got Winter signed and personalized, which was awesome. Marissa Meyer was lovely, and I got to express my love for Wolf to her in person. I may or may not have embarrassed myself while fangirling over Wolf, but do I care? Nope. xD Also, I have finished Winter so be on the lookout for my review if you’re interested in that!
Like I mentioned before, it was my birthday on November 30th, and my dad was lovely enough to buy me a much-needed new bookshelf. To accommodate this beast of a shelf, I had to move stuff around in my room and I thought I’d show you the final product. :3
Anyhoo, that’s it for this month’s book haul! If you’re interested in seeing everything I read this month, check out my November wrap-up. Let me know down below if you’ve read any of these books and what are your thoughts on them. As always, happy reading! x
