Hey guys! I hope you all had a wonderful, energetic start to the week. Fellow east-coasters, I hope you’re staying warm and wearing protective foot-gear to deal with all this slush and disgusting-ness.
I’m writing this post basically to explain why I’ve been kinda-sorta inactive. I was having such a wonderful reading month, and managed to read 9 books from the beginning of February to the 19th. I was hoping I’d crunch in a few more before the end of the month, but then Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness happened. For those of you who don’t know, Monsters of Men is the third and final book in the Chaos Walking Trilogy, which has fast become one of my favorite series of all-time. I was putting off reading this book for the longest time because I didn’t want the story/world/awesomeness to end. When I was 150 pages from the end, I put the book down and didn’t pick it up for two days. And then I finally finished it, and it was so freaking good, resulting in a huge, seemingly relentless book hangover.
I didn’t pick up any book for the entire weekend. I just didn’t want to dive into anything else, and I still don’t want to do so. I started reading an Advanced Readers copy of Playlist for the Dead by Michelle Falkoff, but it’s taking me forever to get through it, not because it’s bad, but because of this stupid hangover.
I’ll try to get my review for MoM up as soon as I possibly can. And I really hope this hangover passes over before the end of this month, because I have a lot of books on my TBR, and I can’t afford to be in this current state of mind. :’)
Having said that, I really hope some of you will be able to give me some tips on how to get over this. What do you guys do during a book hangover? And what books have gotten you out of your hangovers? Let me know in the comments below.
Have a wonderful week, and stay awesome, lovely and bookish. 🙂 Happy reading!
