Hello everyone! I’ve been meaning to do this tag ever since it first showed up on the Internet (I’m pretty sure it was created by Katytastic?). But since Nick over at the Paper Dragon tagged me, I thought it was time to do this! So, thanks Nick for the tag, and I can’t wait to get into it! 🙂
Think of your own villain identity and power
I’ve thought a lot about what my villainous power would be, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I would totally be a pro at mind-control. If you have a villain who can control your mind, you’re pretty much screwed. You’re coming to kill me? Whoops, you’re actually trying to kill yourself. It’s perfect. As for my villainous name… I suck at names, so I’ll just be called ‘Doctor.’ Costume? Perhaps a normal suit? Idek.
The Leader – Pick a villain to lead the squad
This is actually a no-brainer for me. One of my favorite villains of all-time is Mayor Prentiss from the Chaos Walking trilogy. He’s cunning, he’s charming, he’s smart beyond anyone’s understanding, he’s ruthless and he’s persuasive. People under him follow him without reservation, and they don’t even need a conscience because they think they’re doing the right thing. So… yes, Mayor Prentiss.
The Killer Smile – Pick a villain who’s just extremely attractive
Isn’t the Darkling from the Grisha trilogy supposed to be the handsomest fucker ever? Because that’s how I remember him. I’m a sucker for smoldering looks. I’m a sucker for guys with dark hair. And if I had to pick a villainous boyfriend, I’d totally go for the Darkling.
The Loose Canon – Pick a villain that marches to the beat of their own drum
Joffrey Baratheon from A Song of Ice and Fire. I hate this little shit with a passion, but he’s such a brilliant character. He’s the kind of kid who is the most dangerous thing a kingdom can ever have if he’s given power, because he will do anything he wants. He doesn’t care what his elders say, he doesn’t care if it’s smart or hasty- he just goes for it.
The Unhinged One – Pick a villain that isn’t playing with a full deck.
Sebastian Morgenstern from the Mortal Instruments series. He’s absolutely nuts. He doesn’t care about anyone or anything. He’s just bad for the sake of being bad, and he’s unhinged and insane and does whatever the fuck he wants to do without any regard for consequences. I love it.
The Redeemer – Pick a villain that’s on a path of redemption/would play both sides
Micah Bayar from the Seven Realms series is complex, to say the least. He’s only seventeen or eighteen and he comes from a family of powerful, dark magicians but he’s not as ruthless as his other family members are. He definitely has a conscience, and if faced with doing something atrocious, he would leave our team and go warn the good side.
The Evil One – Pick a Villain That’s Just Bad to the Bone
I have to steal Nick’s answer for this one and say Lord Voldemort from the Harry Potter series. The only other villain I could think of for this was Sauron from the Lord of the Rings, but I haven’t read that so I disregarded it. Voldemort is cruel. He will kill even his most loyal servants to get his way. He will do anything to get what he wants, and he will relish every moment of it. Even when he wasn’t a supervillain, he was kind of dark and crazy.
The Once-Was-Good – Pick a villain that didn’t originally start out as a villain.
I swear the only one I can think of right now is someone non-bookish, and that’s Walter White from Breaking Bad. I’m sorry, but he’s literally all I could think of while also making sure that I’m not repeating a series. :3
So that’s it for this tag. Thanks again Nick for tagging me! I had a lot of fun with this. I’m not going to be tagging anyone officially because I’m legit late for work, but if you want to do this tag, consider yourself tagged by me! It’s a lot of fun, so I hope some of you give it a go!
