Top Ten Tuesday | Anticipated Releases of the First Half of ’16

anticipated releases

Hello everyone! It’s that time of the week again! Top Ten Tuesday is a book meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Basically, you get a different bookish topic every Tuesday, and you comprise a list of ten (or however many you’re able to list) relating to said topic.

Today’s topic is ‘Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2016.’ Now, 2016 promises a lot of great releases, so I can’t wait to tell you some of the books I’m looking forward to!

These are in no order whatsoever!

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare | Releasing on March 8th, 2016

The Winner’s Kiss (The Winner’s Trilogy #3) by Marie Rutkoski | Releasing on March 29th, 2016

(Psst, I refuse to accept the cover change!)

The Winds of Winter (A Song of Ice & Fire #6) by George R.R. Martin | Release date TBD

Now, I’m not even sure if this is the official cover. The release date has not been decided- there are some rumors that it’ll be out in February, and if not, it’ll most probably still be out before the sixth season of Game of Thrones airs on HBO in April. *fingers crossed*

The Raven King (The Raven Cycle #4) by Maggie Stiefvater | Releasing on April 26th, 2016

The Rose and the Dagger (The Wrath and the Dawn #2) by Renée Ahdieh | May 3rd, 2016

I kinda hate the color of this cover. *claws eyes out*

Truthwitch by Susan Dennard | Releasing on January 5th, 2016

Stars Above (The Lunar Chronicles Novellas) by Marissa Meyer | Releasing on February 2nd, 2016

Passenger by Alexandra Bracken | Releasing on January 5th, 2016

Summer Days & Summer Nights: Twelve Short Stories edited by Stephanie Perkins | Releasing on June 14th, 2016

A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses #2) by Sarah J. Maas | Releasing on May 3rd, 2016

    • Yasss, I’m so happy that the cover got re-redesigned. xD

Ugh, okay, so until last week, there were some rumors that it was going to be out in Feb or March. But apparently, there’s going to be a delay. I’m crying too, Joey. 🙁

  1. Oh my I’m just freaking out over The Raven King!! I can’t wait to read it but I’m also reluctant because it’s the last book of the series 😢

  2. Haven’t you heard? Fierce Reads is releasing the dress cover in hardback and all three in paperback with the new cover. So you don’t have to accept anything haha. I agree with your thought on the Rose and the Dagger, it’s just a little bit too pastel for me

    • OHHHHH MY GODDDDDDD. Sara, you do NOT understand how happy this makes me. Bless you, child. 😀 I knew if readers made a fuss, they’d probably reconsider.

I just hope the actualy copy of the Rose and the Dagger is a little less bright than the picture online. Hurts my eyes, haha. xD

  3. There are so many great books set to come out next year and a lot of them have made it to your list. I’m so excited about The Winner’s Kiss mainly because I can get to binge reading the series. I don’t think I am emotionally ready for The Raven King. I’ll have to stock up on the tissues when I get my hands on the book.

    • The Winner’s trilogy is the perfect binge-series! Marie Rutkoski is cruel with her cliffhangers, so it’s always nice to have the next book with you. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

And yes! Stiefvater has promised her readers feels and I’m happy about that but I’m so not ready. I just wish they stopped pushing back the release date! ):

  4. I cannot wait to read The Raven King!!! The Raven Cycle is definitely one of my favorite new series at the moment. You can’t go wrong with Maggie Stiefvater 🙂 Great list!

  5. I almost stopped breathing…. The Winds of Winter in February? Ohhhhh… how I wish that this would be true! 🙂 I heard that it (if) will be out in October. But I like your option more, haha.

    • Okay, so when I checked a few days ago, the rumors definitely said Feb 2016. But apparently GRRM said there’s going to be a delay because he’s distracted, and now I think October is more appropriate. 🙁

  6. All of these book look so good! I have not read the A Song of Ice and Fire series yet, but I have heard amazing things about it. I am buddy reading the first book in early January, so maybe I will get to book six in 2016. I doubt it though. I am glad to see that we have books in common on our lists! I hope you enjoy all of these books! 🙂

    • Yay! I think big books are great to buddy read. I really hope you enjoy it. I know the series is daunting but once you’re absorbed, it’s difficult to get out haha. Be wary though: GRRM’s notorious for keeping his readers waiting. 🙁

  7. I absolutely can’t wait for The Winner’s Kiss. If Arin and Kestrel don’t get their happily ever after and be together forever, I’ll be ruined, seriously. Same about The Raven King – it seems TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE, but I want all the characters to get whatever they want and STAY ALIVE! Passenger sounds SO GOOD + I loved The Darkest Minds, so I have trust in the author. I really hope Summer Days and Summer Nights will be as cute as it sounds.
    Amazing list! 🙂
    My TTT

    • Have you read the excerpt released for the Winner’s Kiss? Because it absolutely killed me. I can’t wait to get my hands on that book, but I’m also not ready for the feels!

I haven’t read the Darkest Minds yet, though I do own the first book. I do hope I enjoy it!

  8. So many sequels! I’m excited for Stars Above, Summer Nights, and Passenger as well. I really need to catch up with ACOTAR so I can read ACOMAF right when it comes out, haha
