Top Ten Tuesday | June 9: Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For the Rest of 2015

I remember I did one ‘Top Ten Tuesday’ topic when I first started my blog. After that, I got lazy and didn’t continue with it, but I’ve always loved to read other people’s ‘T10T’ posts, so I’m jumping back on the bandwagon! If you didn’t know, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and basically, you get a different bookish topic every Tuesday, and you comprise a list of ten (or however many you’re able to list) relating to said topic.

Today’s topic is ‘Top Ten Most Anticipated Release for the Rest of 2015.’ Without further ado, let’s get into it.

1. Lair of Dreams (The Diviners #2) by Libba Bray ~ Released on August 25th

Guys, you don’t understand. I read the first book in the Diviners series last October, and I have been desperately waiting for the second book ever since. it was initially supposed to come out in April, but it got pushed back to June, and then it got pushed back to August. It’s about freaking time.

2. The Heart of Betrayal (The Remnant Chronicles #2) by Mary E. Pearson ~ Released on July 7th

heart of betrayal

I read the first book in this series, the Kiss of Deception (click for review), a few months ago. I really enjoyed it, but things were taken to a whole new level at the end, and I cannot wait to dive back into this series. However, I do hope that there’s a lot more world-building in this next installment, but either way- I’m excited!

3. The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness ~ Released on October 6th

the rest of us just live here

Patrick Ness can do no wrong with his writing. His books are fantastic, and his writing is fantastic, and his characters are fabulous, and very few writers can make me feel all the feels, and he’s one of them. For those of you who don’t know, this book is about a kid who’s NOT the chosen one. Pfftyeah, literally.

4. Winter (The Lunar Chronicles #4) by Marissa Meyer ~ Released on November 10th

Okay, what is it with me anticipating the books with blue covers? All of the books in this post so far have bluish covers, oops. D: Anyhow, the Lunar Chronicles is one of the most fun series I’ve read, and the books just keep on getting better and better. If you don’t know, the Lunar Chronicles is a series of books, each a fairy-tale retelling. So Cinder is Cinderella, Scarlet is Little Red Riding Hood, Cress is Rapunzel, and Winter is Snow White. Also, this book is like 800 pages, heck yeah.

5. Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon ~ Released on September 1st

Phew, not a blue cover (well, not entirely!). I’ve heard nothing but fantastic things about this book. Many of my favorite bloggers, booktubers and reviewers have given rave reviews to this book, and I cannot wait. The premise is very interesting, and I’m curious to see how a character who’s – literally – allergic to the world will maneuver situations.

6. Six of Crows (The Dregs #1) by Leigh Bardugo ~ Released September 29th

six of crows

I’m a big fan of Leigh Bardugo’s writing. She’s such a talented writer, and I loved all the world-building in the Grisha trilogy. It’s such a unique, dark, gritty fantasy world, so I was very excited that Bardugo is releasing another series set in the same world (with different characters, I believe.) Yay!

7. Love May Fall by Matthew Quick ~ Released on June 16th

love may fall

I read Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick and I fell in LOVE with it. His writing, the emotion he can convey in the simplest of words, his storytelling- everything was on point. I haven’t read Silver Linings, because I saw the movie and I wasn’t much of a fan, but I’m very excited for this new book.

8. Armada by Ernest Cline ~ Released on July 14th

I read Ready Player One last year, and even though I was oblivious to many of the 80s references, I still loved the book. Ernest Cline is very imaginative, and I’m excited to see what else he has to offer. I’m sure this book is going to be a fast, fun ride.

9. Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass #4) by Sarah J. Maas ~ Released on September 1st

queen of shadows

Surprised? You shouldn’t be. xD

10. Career of Evil (Cormoran Strike #3) by Robert Galbraith ~ Released on SOMETIME IN 2015 GIVE ME THE RELEASE DATE NOW I MEAN NOW

This is probably my MOST anticipated book release of 2015, but I saved it for the end because it doesn’t yet have a cover (or a release date, I’m trying very hard not to be salty about this), and I didn’t want to ruin the flow of my post. I mean, JK Rowling is my QUEEN. Not only that, but the first two books were FANTASTIC. Cormoran Strike is one of my favorite characters of all time. He’s so nuanced, so complex, and he’s not your typical ‘hero.’ A chubby war vet with one leg? Who’s also a bad-ass detective? Um, YES.

Alrighty guys, that’s it for this week’s Top 10 Tuesday. Hopefully, I’ll be more proactive and do next week’s topic as well. Have a wonderful week, and I hope you weren’t weirded out by the level of sass in this post. Oops.
