WWW Wednesday | #5

This week’s Top 5 Wednesday was ‘Top 5 Hunger Games Moments’ and even though I like the Hunger Games, I don’t care enough to actually do a post on it. I’M SORRY. So, I come to you with another WWW Wednesday!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Sam from Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers are encouraged to answer three questions:

~ What are you currently reading?

~ What did you recently finish reading?

  1. I’m so glad you enjoyed Six of Crows. It’s high up on my TBR and I read the whole Grisha trilogy just to enhance my experience when I eventually get there! 🙂
I hope you like Dreams of Gods and Monsters. I thought it could have been split into two books… and I got the feeling the ending was setting us up for spin-off. I had mixed feelings about the whole trilogy although I loved how it all started.

    • How did you like the Grisha trilogy? I know a lot of people had mixed feelings; but I’m guessing you enjoyed it since you’re looking forward to Six of Crows!
I’m quite liking DoGM but I get what you mean. It’s very dense and I think Taylor tends to sacrifice pacing for atmosphere, which I’m not too big on. x

      • Overall I liked the Grisha, although I wasn’t as gripped by it as I’d hoped. That said, the writing was fantastic, which is why I’m looking forward to Six of Crows so much. Perhaps with some different characters I’ll have a better experience this time round.
DoGM is good (Taylor can certainly write) but I felt she tried to do too much and as a result you get pacing issues/new characters being introduced too late in the series etc. I think it’s another case where I’ll be interested to see what she writes next 🙂

  2. Ah yes! Carry On is on my TBR list too, and I am definitely hoping it lives up to the hype! Great review of Six of Crows! Another one sitting on my ever growing TBR list!
