Hello everyone! I come to you today with another book tag. I’m strangely excited to do this tag, because I’ve been wanting to do it for a very long time. And of course, now that fall’s almost over, I got around to doing it. I was tagged by the wonderful Nick @ The Paper Dragon, so muchas gracias for thinking of me. 🙂
Crunching Leaves: The world is full of colour. Choose a book that has reds, oranges and yellows on the cover.
I beat everyone who’s ever done this tag by choosing this cover. I mean, look at it. If it doesn’t scream fall to you, I don’t know what does. Not only is it a superb cover, The Silkworm is a great book. I don’t think I have enough praise for this series. READ IT. And it only gets better as it goes along, so what’re you waiting for? DO IT *Shia Laboeuf style*
Cozy Sweater: It’s finally cold enough to don warm cosy clothing. What book gives you the warm fuzzies?
This book gives me all the feels. Fangirl is a wonderful contemporary, and that’s coming from someone who isn’t usually blown away by contemporaries. It explores themes of maturing, of friendship, of family and moving away from what’s comfortable for you. Not only that, but it’s also somewhat reminiscent of my experiences as a child who loved Harry Potter. It gave me extreme nostalgia, and all the warm fuzzies.
Fall Storm: The wind is howling and the rain is pounding. Choose your favourite book OR genre that you like to read on a stormy day.
This is a no-brainer. I’m a sucker for fantasy, in general, but when it’s autumn or winter, my fantasy obsession gets out of control. I can stay immersed in different worlds with dark magic, elaborate costumes, politics, fantastical creatures and all that for months and months without getting tired. So yes, fantasy.
Cool Crisp Air: Who’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?
I genuinely told myself that I wouldn’t choose Harry Potter for anything in this tag, but I couldn’t help myself. See, I would love to trade places with someone who wasn’t mentioned in these books. Some random Hogwarts student in the back who’s just at the school taking awesome classes, enjoying life with his friends, without the worries of impending death and Voldemort and prophecies constantly on my mind. I just want to be a completely ordinary Hogwarts student, yes.
Hot Apple Cider: What under hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?
I wouldn’t say this series is underhyped, per se, but it definitely doesn’t get enough love. When the first one came out, it was on everybody’s mind, but the thing is – I don’t think a lot of people have read it. They know about it, but they haven’t read it. And I know several people who read the first book, liked it, but didn’t read the second one. THIS SERIES IS AMAZING. It needs more love.
Coat, Scarves and Mittens: The weather has turned cold and it’s time to cover up. What’s the most embarrassing book cover you own that you like to keep hidden in public?
*cringes* I think this was a cover change? Like, why would you change the covers of a series when the new ones are literally just as bad, if not worse. I don’t understand… I think the main reason I still haven’t read this series are the covers. I just… *cringes again*
Pumpkin Spice: What’s your favourite fall time comfort food/foods?
I, for some reason, really love eating desserts during fall. I like to binge on Oreos while watching TV, or stuffing cheesecake in my face while studying. It’s weird because I’m not usually a desserts’ person, but during the fall, I’m all about them. And also hot chocolate. I looooove hot chocolate during the fall/winter. 😀
I’m pretty sure everybody in the entire universe has already done this tag, but if not, I tag you to do it. I’m sorry that I’m going to skip on tagging specific people right now. But honestly – if you haven’t done this, or if you have done this and want to do it again, or whatever your reasoning, consider yourself officially tagged. Feel free to even link me your post. <3
