Book Tag | Would You Rather

would you rather

Hello everyone! Today I have a new tag post for you. I’ve been wanting to do this tag for a while now because it looks super fun and interesting, so a huge thanks to Bella from Aetheristrux for tagging me; you are awesome!

For those of you who don’t know, the ‘Would You Rather’ book tag poses a number of different questions in the form of “Would you rather do this or that?” Without further ado, let’s get started! 🙂

Would you rather only read trilogies or only read standalones?

So, here’s the thing. I absolutely love standalones, and some of my favorite books are standalones. But trilogies, in general, are so much fun. I find myself so much more attached to the characters at the end of a good trilogy, and I find that I can re-read books in a series more willingly than I can read standalones. So even though I love standalones, I have to choose trilogies for this one.

Would you rather only read male or female authors?

I don’t really know about this one, because I’ve never cared if I read books written by women or men, nor have I ever noticed whose books I seem to like more. My favorite authors are wonderful gems of both genders, so I don’t really know. But if I have to pick, I guess I’d choose female authors because I’ve just read more books by women. Also, J.K. Rowling is my queen.

Would you rather shop at Barnes and Noble or Amazon?

Barnes & Noble, but their online store. I’m a college student. I can’t afford to pay full price for beautiful hardcovers. So if you want to support a bookchain while also paying a reasonable price that matches Amazon’s? Yeah, is your go-to.

Would you rather books were made into TV shows or movies?

This is no contest. TV shows, absolutely. If it’s a standalone, I don’t mind it being made into a movie, but series just work better as TV shows. I mean, look at Game of Thrones. If a book series is dense and has a ton of well-developed characters and good story arcs, a TV show can offer it the time and attention it needs.

Would you rather read only 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?

Pfft. 5 books per week!

Would you rather be a professional author or reviewer?

I’m really shy about people reading my work, so I don’t currently see myself becoming a professional author, even though I would love for that to happen. So, realistically, I would be a professional reviewer.

Would you rather be a librarian or a bookseller?

I’ve never been a librarian, but I have been a bookseller, and I loved every second of my job. So I have to go for bookseller. I prefer bookstores over libraries in general.

Would you rather only read your favorite genre, or every other genre but your favorite?

This is such a tough one. My favorite genre is fantasy, and I can read it for months at a time but sometimes, you just need to sit back and take a break from all the different worlds. I don’t think I could survive in a world without fantasy books though, so I have to say I’d rather only read my favorite genre. Although it would probably slow my reading pace down quite a bit.

Would you rather only read ebooks or physical books?

If money didn’t play a factor, I would say physical books.

  1. I actually just did the Would You Rather Tag yesterday but thank you for tagging me! (Oh, and just so you know it didn’t actually notify me that I was tagged, I just happened to be reading your blog and see that I was tagged. So you may want to let the others know that you tagged them!)

    • Aw, man. 🙁 I’ve been away for a few days so I hadn’t checked my Reader, otherwise I would’ve seen your post. And oops. I thought if I linked your blog, you’d get a notification. Thanks for telling me! 🙂 x
