Currently Not Accepting Review Requests
If you are an Asian author (especially South Asian) who writes Asian fiction, please do reach out to me. As a South Asian myself, I would especially love the opportunity to spotlight your books if I enjoy them.
If you would like me to review a certain book, feel free to contact me. I would be honored to be of any assistance, though I cannot guarantee that I will get to your book. My acceptance of a review copy depends on i) my interest in the book, and ii) how much time I have on hand.
I live in the United States, and can be reached via the contact form under the ‘Contact’ page.
The genres I accept for review are:
- Young adult literature (most genres), especially contemporary and fantasy
- Psychological thrillers, horror
- General adult fiction
- Literary fiction
I am not interested in non-fiction, paranormals, or adult sci-fi.
In an effort to diversify my reading, I encourage writers of diverse fiction to feel more than free to contact me. I will make an effort to read books with PoC/disabled/LGBTQ+ protagonists, as well as books written by OwnVoices authors. If, for some reason, I cannot read your book, I will try my best to direct you to someone who can.
I post my book reviews a couple of days after having read the book, to gather my thoughts and prepare a cohesive review. My reviews include a definitive rating out of five stars (I do increments of half a star.) All my reviews follow the rubric used to grade and discuss the fiction presented in my Creative Writing classes; I judge plot, characters and writing style, while also providing my audience with a brief representation of the book as well as both positives and negatives. I will include a link to the Goodreads page for the book, as well as a link to purchase a copy on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and the Book Depository (if applicable.)
I try to be as honest as possible in my reviews, and if I come across as harsh, I assure you that I mean no offense. I take reviewing books and recommending them to my followers very seriously, so I will not sugarcoat things. But rest assured, if I enjoy your book, I will rave about it in a post with gushiness and maybe some GIFs. I also try to be constructive in my criticism. I do not simply say “this bad, that good,” so that blooming authors can fully pinpoint where my criticism lies and what can be done to improve. Of course, I am no professional – by no means, but I’d like to think an extra set of eyes can do wonders for a piece of work. Lastly, my reviews can be found on this blog (obviously), on my Tumblr blog, as well as my Goodreads page. If you would like me to post my review on Amazon or Barnes & Noble, you can request to do so.
